Professional Bio

Joanna Bogdan-Fyles, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker who has worked in the mental health field for 30 years in a variety of settings. Her Masters of Social Work program concentrated on family mental health and she continues to use a family focused approach in working with clients of all ages. Working with many children and families who were facing the challenges of separation and divorce has led her to support the collaborative law process. She sees this as an opportunity to keep the children’s needs in better focus and offer a respectful process to the entire family.

Joanna has been a psychotherapist in private practice for the past 16 years, including 10 years in her current independent practice. She was drawn to the social work field because it encourages flexible and creative ways to problem solve, with the goal of finding the best choices for the person and family under stress.

She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Academy of Certified Social Workers, a past board member of the Syracuse Chapter of the Society for Clinical Social Work, and has been active in collaborating with colleagues and related professionals regarding children and families.
